Liaison Software Engineer

Aisin Europe is currently looking for a liaison software engineer, ideally having a sound experience in body components ECU, preferably sunroofs.

You would be located in our office in Neu-Isenburg and frequently (weekly) visit our customers.

You will regularly communicate and collaborate with our sales and engineering members in Europe (Germany, France, Belgium) and with our specialized engineers located in Japan and the USA for supporting our sunroof projects at first stage and other body components at second stage.



  • Master’s degree in Software Engineering
  • German language native level
  • Excellent level of English
  • Automotive OEM body components ECU

(*) Essential Skills and Abilities:

  • 3 -5 years relevant experience in the automotive industry, preferably with a Tier One supplier
  • Computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Basic proficiency with DFMEA, DRBFM, FTA and other design tool/methodology
  • Proficient with electronic measuring equipment such as oscilloscope(s), digital multi meters, etc.
  • Familiar with software development tools (compilers / debuggers) for embedded microprocessors
  • An understanding of software processes and accreditations such as A-Spice and CMMI

(*) Beneficial Skills and Experience:

  • Embedded System Design (Hardware and Software requirements analysis, specification creation, system testing and software release)
  • Matlab/Simulink, Stateflow, HIL Testing, CANoe, CANalyzer
  • An understanding of functional safety and ISO26262
  • Experience of working with German Automotive Manufacturer is a strong asset
  • Able to learn and adapt to Japanese business culture
  • Ability to create good business relationships
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels

  • Based at Aisin Europe’s German Branch Office, at Neu-Isenburg
  • Regular visits to customers (1 to 2 days a week)


* Non-exhaustive list of tasks

  • Collect information about responsible product(s) from HQ engineering (future ideas, under development, and complete development in terms of material, structure, function, etc.)
  • Collect customers' future needs and wants (in terms of function, size, weight, cost, etc.) and feedback to HQ engineering
  • Collect customer's specification requirements for specific project (approximately 4 years before SOP)
  • Technical feasibility study of customer requirements
  • Request of development of new functional structure to HQ engineering if necessary
  • Manufacturing feasibility study considering existing or available material, equipment, process, etc. of EPC and/or suppliers
  • Make proposal and agree with customer and request making prototype drawing to HQ engineering
  • Order prototype if manufactured in Europe
  • Own prototype evaluation at HQ or own laboratory (Frankfurt) if necessary
  • Follow-up customer's prototype evaluation and reflect modifications to drawing if necessary
  • Detailed technical feasibility study of customer requirements
  • Summarize and issue technical specifications and requirements for production company's cost calculation. Include VA/VE if possible.
  • Detailed manufacturing feasibility study considering existing or available material, equipment, process, etc. of EPC and/or suppliers
  • Make proposal and agree with customer and request making production drawing (Assembly and sub-parts)
  • Make and issue production drawing (Assembly and sub-parts)
  • Submit drawings to customer and get approval
  • Follow-up customer's production prototype evaluation and reflect modifications to drawing if necessary
  • Revise production drawing upon customer's design change request or Aisin's design change proposal
  • Training of sales members about responsible product(s)
  • Reporting mainly to engineering department in Japan, local sales key account and OEM Vice-President.
